shiny times

  • The shiny librarian is going to Philly!
I just received word that I have been selected to receive a sponsorship from ACRL for the 2008 Emerging Leaders program. This means there will be shiny sightings in both Philly and Anaheim.

  • Contract extension FTW!
Looks like I will be keeping my faculty librarian position through the end of winter term (instead of fall term). More opportunities to showcase the shiny are always a good thing. So this fall I will be working full time at Cascade and winter term you can find me at Sylvania.

  • I am the master of library science!
It’s official, the ceremony is over and I wore the silly hood.I am now capable of holding down the title shiny librarian and not just shiny reference assistant. This is good. Really good.

  • Movin on up…away from the East side.
That’s right friends, the shiny librarian is no longer going to schlep to the East county every day. Portland Community College made me an offer I felt I couldn’t turn down. Coming this fall I will be working full time at the Cascade campus.

  • ALA Student-to-staff program
I am ecstatic! Emporia has selected me as the ALA student-to-staff representative. This means I will attend the annual conference in DC in June and also intern to RUSA during the conference.
